Description
This is a cottage built in the early 19th century that has been modified. It is constructed of brick in Flemish bond, featuring gauged flat brick arches with Ham stone keystones. The roof is made of Welsh slate and has coped gables, with brick stacks at each end. The cottage is two stories high and has three bays. The central front door, added in the late 20th century, has a timber surround and a heavily moulded hood supported by corbels. There are three-light lower casement windows and two-light upper casement windows, all with horizontal glazing bars, and the outer windows are fitted with shutters. The front boundary features 19th-century wrought iron railings that have pointed tips and urn finials on either side of the matching gate. The return wing walls are accented by small Ham stone end piers topped with pyramidal caps, and the walls have thin stone copings that rise to two meters, sweeping up to the house.
