Description

A pair of cottages dating from around 1860. They are built of red brick in English bond, with alternating courses of glazed black brick, and have Ham stone quoins and dressings. The roof is tiled with ornamental tile bands and a decorative ridge, and a central brick chimney stack. The cottages are two storeys high with two bays each. They feature timber-arched porches with tiled roofs, and the centre bay of each cottage projects, containing double-glazed windows with plain bargeboards and a wooden finial. The windows are mullioned, with rectangular leaded lights – three lights at the bottom and two above – without decorative labels. These cottages are one of three identical pairs in the parish, associated with the Goodford estate, and represent a brick version of the stone cottages at Hinton Farm.
