Description
Sock Dairy Farm House is a mid-19th century farmhouse built from red brick in English bond, featuring alternate stretcher courses in glazed black brick, with Ham stone quoins and dressings. The roof is covered with plain clay tiles and has bands of ornamental tiles, with gables that are coped and include carved kneeler stones, along with brick chimney stacks. The house is two stories high and has three bays. The central front door is framed by architraves and is sheltered by a timber porch with an arched roof covered in tiles. The windows are plain chamfered mullioned types with large rectangular leaded panes, consisting of three lights below and two lights above, and they do not have labels. There is a 20th-century extension at the rear. This farmhouse is a more sophisticated version of a pair of cottages located 20 meters west of Old Sock Cottage, which share the same design and date.
