Description
Low Osgodby Grange is a farmhouse dating from the early to mid-18th century. It is constructed of red brick in English bond and features an interlocking tile roof. The building has a double depth and consists of two storeys with an attic, arranged in three bays.
The garden front, which faces west, is symmetrical and includes a chamfered stone plinth. The central entrance has a 20th-century half-glazed door with an overlight above it. The windows are 12-pane sashes, with all openings featuring flat brick arches with keystones and projecting stone sills. The eaves are stepped and dentilled, with the dentils made of paired bricks. The roof is a two-span design, with shaped stone kneelers, raised verges topped with ashlar coping, and a rendered brick stack at each gable.
To the right, there is a 20th-century outshut that is not of special interest. The rear of the building is rendered and also has stepped dentilled eaves. Each return features paired single-light attic windows flanking the roof valley, and the left return includes a cellar window on the right and a wide side-sliding sash window on the ground floor to the left.
