Description

The building is a barn that has been converted into a store and shop, likely dating from the late 18th century, with alterations made around 1980. It is constructed of red brick in English garden wall bond and features a pantile roof. The structure consists of three bays, with a loft above the left-hand part.

The two right-hand bays, which were originally part of the barn, include a wide cart-entry on the left that has a cambered timber lintel but is now bricked up and fitted with a 20th-century door. To the right of this entry are three rows of slit vents. The left-hand bay has a 20th-century door, a 20th-century window to the left, and a doorway to the right, all situated under brick round arches. Above these openings are two small square openings with flat brick arches and wooden grilles. The building features dentilled eaves, a shaped stone kneeler, and ashlar coping at the left end.

On the left side, there are gable steps leading up to a first-floor board door framed by a header-brick round-arched surround. The right gable includes slit vents, a hatch above, and a rebuilt gable. There are outbuildings attached to the rear, but they are not of special interest. Inside, the barn retains 18th-century fish-bone king-post roof trusses.
