House and shop. Early C18 with c1760 brick addition. Limestone rubble with brick insert to centre, pantile roof with stepped stone coping and tall brick stacks to centre and rear of rear wing; plain tiles and coping to central projecting gable. Basically L-shape plan with rear wing to inside right, raised up a steep slope. Right-hand end, to east, lower than the road, is 2 storeys; 2-window range with C19 three-light casements, that to first-floor right under an oak lintel, the wall to the left of it is a brick inset of 2 storeys, a vertical joint to its right and a random joint with rubblestone to its left; the ground-floor casement of this range is under a flat gauged brick arch. To the left of centre is a taller 2-storey, 2-window range, projecting bay with an ogee Dutch gable supporting two C19 chimney pots and containing a blind ogee-arched window in the gable end and a blind window below it to the right: it has 2/2-pane sashes with forward frames to left of front and first-floor right return, all under flat gauged arches. In the angle to the right of the projection is a 6-panel door contained in a wooden porch, probably c1800, now enclosed in corrugated plastic sheeting. Shop to the left is single-storey with a simple C19 shop front. INTERIOR not inspected.
