Description
58 High Street is a house and shop dating from the late 18th century, with a mid-19th century shop front. The building is constructed of rendered limestone rubble, features brick gable stacks, and has a stone slate roof. It has a two-room plan that runs parallel to the street and stands two storeys tall with an attic, presenting a two-window range. The symmetrical front includes a mid-19th century timber door surround with corner roundels, a pediment, and an overlight. The left-hand shop front has timber pilasters supporting a fascia, a plate-glass window, and a blind that extends over the doorway. The windows are horned 2/2-pane sashes, and there is a single dormer with a cambered head and horizontal sliding sashes. The interior has not been inspected.
