Description

Stowell Farm House is a farmhouse with origins dating back to the 15th century, although it was largely rebuilt in the 19th century. It is constructed from local stone that has been cut and squared, with ashlar dressings. The roof is made of plain clay tiles and features simple gables. The stone chimney stacks have moulded caps, with the south stack being external and stepped with offsets, originating from the late medieval period. The building has two storeys with an attic and consists of three bays.

The exterior includes 2-light windows that have cusped flat heads under square labels, and a central pointed arched doorway with a boarded door set in a recess. The north gable features two wide pointed arch windows with later added centre mullions, as well as single-light cusped head windows, one of which has a label, and an attic window with a hood mould. There is an outshut at the rear of the house. The interior has not been seen.
