Description

The gate piers and gates at the principal driveway entrance to Mountfields date from the early 19th century. They feature panelled ashlar piers with moulded caps and bases designed for finials. The structure includes ashlar quadrant walls topped with freestone cappings and similar outer piers. A pair of wrought-iron gates with finials completes the entrance.
