Description
The Old Forge is a cottage, likely dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of local stone rubble, with a colourwashed finish and a thatched roof featuring plain gables. The building has brick and stone chimney stacks and an 'L' shaped plan. The front elevation has two bays. There are small-paned casement windows; three-light windows are present on the ground floor and two-light windows above, all under exposed timber lintols. The window in the upper bay of the first bay has a segmental arched opening with a gable above. A plain boarded door with glazed panels is set within a timber and thatched porch. The interior has not been inspected.
