Description
No. 2 Woolston Road is a detached cottage with origins dating back to the 17th century. It is constructed from locally sourced lias stone that is roughly cut and squared, topped with a double Roman clay tile roof featuring stepped coped gables and brick chimney stacks at each end. The cottage stands two storeys high and consists of two bays. It has horizontal bar casement windows, with two lights above and three lights below, all set under timber lintels. Between the bays is a plain boarded door that has a diamond glazed panel in a simple frame. There is a lean-to structure against the west gable, which has a brick side wall and a plain clay tile roof. The interior has not been seen. No. 3 Woolston Road appears to be identical in size and basic details, suggesting that the two houses likely share common origins.
