Description
No. 10 High Street is a semi-detached cottage from the 18th century that has been modified. It is constructed from cut and squared lias stone, with the south side rendered. The cottage features a thatched roof with a coped gable on the west side and a plain gable on the east, along with brick chimney stacks. The building is positioned at right angles to the road and has two storeys with an attic, displaying a two-bay south elevation with irregular window arrangements. The windows are small horizontal-bar casements, three lights wide, set beneath timber lintels. The lower bay two has a boarded door that is sheltered by a simple flat hood supported by wrought-iron scroll brackets. There is a lean-to structure made of rendered brick against the east gable. The west gable features a combination of horizontal-bar three-light casements beneath voussoired segmental arches, along with a small two-light casement in the attic under a timber lintel. The interior has not been seen.
