This is a milestone located on the A303, likely dating from the early 19th century. It is made of Doulting stone and features a cast iron plaque. The stone measures approximately 400 mm by 50 mm thick and stands about 1.2 metres high, with a roughly rounded top. The cast iron plaque is 375 mm wide and 430 mm high, featuring a shouldered semi-circular top and a double ogee base. The inscription on the plaque reads "Wincanton (on curve)/4/Ilchester/9".
