Description
Woolston Manor Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse, built around 1830, which is currently divided into two dwellings. The building is constructed from local stone that is rendered and lined with ashlar, featuring a hipped Welsh slate roof and rendered chimney stacks. Designed in a villa style, it has two storeys and measures three bays by three bays. The exterior includes a plinth, rusticated quoins, and 16-pane sash windows with plain surrounds. The central doorway is adorned with a reeded architrave leading to a six-panel door topped with a rectangular fanlight. On the west side, there is a lean-to extension with three-light casements set in segmental arched openings, with the upper window featuring leaded glass. The interior has not been seen. Located six metres north of the house is a low brick wall built in Flemish bond, topped with ashlar copings and capped with wrought-iron railings. The railings are square with plain points and include intermediate braced panels decorated with circles and acanthus motifs, enhancing the setting of the farmhouse.
