Description

Two houses dating from around 1750 are situated on Leg Square in Shepton Mallet. The houses are constructed of rubble with a roughcast finish, and have a pantile roof with a brick stack and coped verge detailing. The front gable is three stories high and features a single bay with flush-mounted sash windows, which retain their glazing bars and exposed sash boxes. A mid-19th century side-hung casement window is present on the second floor. To the left of the front is a door opening framed by a moulded stone architrave and a triangular pediment supported by cut stone brackets. The door itself is a mid-19th century design with glazed panels. The houses adjoin No. 17, and are included on the heritage list primarily for their contribution to the area's group value.
