Description
Jasmine Cottage is a pair of houses dating from the 18th century or early 19th century, located on Vicarage Lane in Hawkshead. The buildings are constructed of stone rubble, with the left house being roughcast and both featuring slate roofs. They are two storeys tall with a basement and consist of four bays. The first bay has a lean-to projection at the basement and ground floor levels. The first two bays have casement windows, while the second two bays feature small-paned fixed glazing with opening upper lights, and the ground floor windows have stone lintels. The left house has its entrance in the return of the projection, while the right house has a central entrance with a lean-to canopy supported by breeze blocks. Both houses have four-panel doors with top lights and original brass lockplates. There are basement entrances to the end bays, and the buildings have a cross-axial stack and gable-end stacks. At the rear, there is a gabled wing on the left, some small-paned fixed glazing in the windows, and one horizontally sliding sash window. The gable-end stack is also present.
