Description

A pair of houses located in Heighington West Green, likely built in the early 18th century, with significant alterations in the late 19th century. The houses are constructed from roughcast rubble, with a replaced pantiled roof and rebuilt brick chimney stacks. They are two storeys high and have three bays, with number 38 occupying the left bay. A central canted bay window features 8-, 12-, and 8-pane sashes, a frieze, and a cornice. It is flanked by doorways. The doorway on the right has a four-panel door and overlight set within an elaborate 19th-century wood doorcase with sunk panels; a replaced four-panel door and overlight are present to the left. The end bays have replaced sashes, and three replaced sashes are above: a four-pane sash on the left and two 12-pane sashes to the right. The roof is steeply pitched with slightly-swept eaves, and the left gable has a shaped kneeler. There are stacks at the left end and on the ridge.
