Description
No. 42 is a house located on West Green, dating from the late 18th century with some alterations. It features painted roughcast masonry and has a pantiled roof with rebuilt brick chimney stacks. The building is two storeys high and has two windows. The entrance includes a replaced door with an overlight, flanked by early 20th-century canted bay windows. Above, there are two replaced sash windows with wedge lintels and projecting sills. The steeply-pitched roof has slightly-swept eaves, and the gables are adorned with raised moulded copings and shaped kneelers. There are end stacks, and a tall plinth is present on the right return. At the rear, there is a continuous outshut featuring a round-arched 12-pane stair window with intersecting tracery in the head.
