Description
Hawkshead Methodist Church is a chapel that dates from the 18th century or early 19th century and was converted from a house in 1862. It is a small building located next to Grandy Nook to the north, Minstrels' Gallery to the east, and Chapel Cottage to the south. On the east side, there is a round-headed window with small-paned fixed glazing and an opening pane. To the left, there is a porch with a segmental head and a round-headed opening, featuring a six-fielded-panel door. The north side has another window in a square-headed opening, while the west side has two similar windows. Inside, the church features ovolo-moulded beams and a small west gallery with swept ends, one projecting forward and the other back, supported by a balustrade and two octagonal timber posts. There is also a round-headed recess in the north wall.
