Description

Lantern Cottage and Ross Cottage are a pair of houses, likely dating from the early 19th century. They are built with a roughcast exterior and have a slate roof. The houses are two storeys high with an attic, and have four bays each. The windows are sash windows; those on the ground floor have vertical glazing bars, while the upper windows have single glazing bars. There are gabled dormer windows. The entrance to the first bay has a nine-panel door, partly glazed, and the entrance to the third bay features panelled pilasters, an entablature, blocking, and a blocked elliptical fanlight. The houses have gable-end stacks. The rear of the building includes some fixed glazing with opening lights and a horizontally sliding sash window.
