Description
Fern Cottage is a house dating from the 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed of plastered stone, with the stone exposed at the rear, and features a slate roof. The building has two storeys and three bays. The third bay includes a dripcourse at the ground floor. The windows are fitted with casements. The entrance is marked by a gabled trellis porch and a glazed door. The third bay also has an entrance to a store, which features a six-flush panel door and an overlight. The second bay has paired pivoted loading doors leading to the first floor, while the third bay contains a small opening. There is a gable-end stack. The rear of the cottage has a slate dripcourse and dripstones above some windows. The entrance and the former loading door above now have small-paned glazing. Inside, the cottage features chamfered beams and a winding stair.
