Description
Nos. 47 and 48 are two cottages dating from the early 19th century, located on the south side of High Street in Ilminster. They are constructed from painted limestone rubble and have a slate roof with brick stacks at the gable ends. The cottages have a double-depth plan and are set well back from No. 49. Each cottage is two storeys high and has a one-window range. The central entrance features paired 19th-century planked doors, with a small window set into the left door. Both floors are flanked by 8/8-pane horned sash windows. No. 48, located to the left, is connected to the rear of No. 49 by a low two-storey range that has a beam at the top of the door level. The interior has not been inspected.
