Description
No. 10 High Street is a cottage that dates back to the 17th century, with extensions made in the mid-19th century and around 1980. The original structure features a timber frame with brick nogging on the left side, while the ground floor is made of limestone rubble with incised stucco above. The roof is covered with pantiles and has chimneys located to the left of the center and at the right gable end. The cottage has been extended from a two-unit to a double-depth plan during the mid-19th century. It stands two stories tall and has a two-window range. All windows are 19th-century three-light sashes, and there is a 20th-century planked door to the left. The left side of the building forms one side of a passage leading to a rear range and retains its timber-framed structure with brick nogging. Inside, the interior has been completely altered, except for a framed panel to the right of the door, which shows traces of wall painting.
