Description
This is a 17th-century barn located at right angles to the frontage of Friggle Towers and the west bay, which is now incorporated into Friggle Towers. The barn is constructed of random rubble, with some studwork and arch bracing on the north side, and weatherboarding on the south side. It features a double-Roman tile roof and a projecting gable on the south side. The barn has paired plank doors, along with two additional paired plank doors and two single divided plank doors. Inside, there is a six-bay tie beam roof, with each truss supported by twin angle struts, in-line tenoned purlins, and windbraces. The trusses are supported on main posts that extend to the ground on both the north and south sides, with a windbrace under each truss.
