Description

Feltham Farmhouse is a farmhouse that has undergone alterations and additions in the 16th, 17th, and 19th centuries. It is constructed of coursed rubble with a tile roof and features three gabled dormers and three brick stacks. The building has a T-shaped plan and is two storeys high with attics, comprising four bays. The windows are mostly three-light casements with horizontal glazing bars, except for paired four-light sash windows in the left two bays of the ground floor and a four-light ovolo-moulded wooden mullioned window in the centre of the first floor. There is a blocked window to the right of this. All window openings are framed with plain stone surrounds. The door opening in the second bay has an ovolo-moulded wooden surround and features an early 19th-century six-panelled door, with the top two panels glazed. A 19th-century gabled and rendered porch has a semi-circular headed outer door opening. There is also a further blocked door opening between the second and third bays, framed by a massive chamfered four-centred arch stone surround. Inside, the farmhouse has exposed ceiling beams and two wooden winder staircases located next to open fireplaces with rubble jambs and chamfered wooden lintels. A further four-centred arch door opening connects to a rear wing, which may have once served as a secondary dwelling, leading to a 19th-century single-storey outshut. The roof features a collar beam design from the 17th century.
