Description
This 17th-century barn, located to the north of Llanevan Farmhouse, features a three-bay timber frame with additional lofted bays at either end. The barn has rubble gable end walls and is constructed with square panel-framing that is three panels high, resting on a low rubble plinth. It includes jowled wall posts, later weatherboarding, and a corrugated iron roof. The central threshing bay is accessible through double door entries. The partitions between the bays have bases made of brick and rubble stone, with long angle-braces extending from the wall-posts to the cill beam and tie-beam trusses, which are supported by raking struts. The end-bay framing consists of square panels with queen-post trusses positioned above.
