Description
The cowhouses located 100 yards southwest of the Old Farmhouse at Vronlase are a 19th-century agricultural building. They are constructed from rubble stone and topped with a tin roof. The structure features seven boarded doors and boarded loft shutters. The rear elevation includes small squared openings with heavy wooden frames, designed for mucking out onto midden heaps. Inside, there is a substantial square-panel timber-framed partition that includes stave holes and wattle grooves. The truss above features tie beams, queen struts, and diagonal braces above the collar. Additionally, there are timber stalling and feed passage partitions, low wooden troughs, and rough pole loft flooring.
