Description
This is a 17th-century barn located about 30 metres south-east of New House Farmhouse. It features a timber frame set on a coursed rubble plinth, with some sections retaining woven infill and others covered in weatherboarding. The roof is made of corrugated iron. The barn consists of five framed bays that run east to west, with a central threshing floor. There is a small entrance at the east end of the north wall, likely used as a stable. The framing includes three square panels in height, and the gable-end truss has cross-framing that creates decorative lozenges. Additionally, the roof of the adjacent cowhouse rests on the west end of this barn. Some alterations were made in the late 19th century.
