Description
The gate piers and flanking walls with secondary piers at the former driveway entrance to Babington House date from the early 18th century. The main piers are made of rusticated ashlar stone and stand on moulded plinths. The upper portions of these piers are vermiculated and feature moulded caps, although the original finials are now missing. The flanking walls are made of ashlar and are of lower height, each containing pedestrian gateways with prominent vermiculated jambs. The secondary piers are similar in style to the main piers but are smaller and lack finials. The gates that would have been part of the entrance are currently missing.
