Description
Charity Cottage is a three-cottage dwelling, now combined into a single residence, dating to the 17th century. The construction is of coursed and squared rubble, with a double-Roman tile roof featuring coped verges and brick stacks. The two storeys are punctuated by six bays. The first floor has 2-light stone-mullioned windows with leaded lights, each with a label below. Above the ground floor, three oval openings are set within ornamental surrounds of freestone. The ground floor has three door openings; two are blocked with casements, and one contains a 20th-century door accessed via a 20th-century cast-stone flat-roofed porch. A 20th-century addition to the left return is not considered to be of architectural importance.
