Description
The ice house, dating from the 18th century, is located in the grounds to the south-west of Babington House. It is constructed from random and coursed squared rubble. The structure features a circular "well" that is approximately 10 meters deep. The above-ground portion is also circular in plan and has a stepped domical roof. There is a square-headed door opening with a wooden lintel, set within a romantically gabled "porch," and it is adorned with a wrought-iron gate.
