Description

The Cox Chest Tomb, located 8 metres south west of the tower at the Church of Saint Mary, is a chest tomb dating from 1757. It is made of Ham stone and features a moulded base with one fielded panel on each side, along with an additional fielded panel on the pilasters. The tomb has a heavily carved hipped top. A well-executed inscription commemorates Samuel Cox, who died in 1757.
