Description

This 18th-century milestone is located on the roadside at Thorney Road in Kingsbury Episcopi. It consists of a low stone pier with a cast plate that reads: "4 Langport, Crewkerne 9". This milestone is part of the Langport, Somerton and Castle Cary Turnpike Trust, as noted in Bryan Morland's 1982 work on the infrastructure of the Industrial Revolution in Somerset.
