Description
No. 24 Commercial Road is a house and shop built around 1840. It features a construction of limestone rubble with roughcast, brick stacks at either end, and a 20th-century double roman tile roof. The building is designed in the Gothick style and has three storeys with three bays. The central entrance has a square-headed door opening framed by a chamfered ashlar architrave, leading to a 20th-century door. To the right, there is a two-light mullion window with a chamfered design and a depressed-arch head for each light, while to the left is a 20th-century shopfront. The first and second floors have similar windows. There is a wing on the right side that extends for 30 metres along Cats Ash, with three storeys and three bays, featuring irregular fenestration, mostly consisting of sash windows with glazing bars that are flush mounted.
