Description
No. 13 Islington High Street is a single house with a shop, built around 1820. The building features a late 19th-century shopfront that has been altered in the 20th century. It is constructed of brick rendered in stucco, which is lined to resemble ashlar on the upper floors, topped by a gabled roof made of Welsh slate. The ground floor includes a shop on the left side, with a house door on the right that provides access to the upper floors via an internal staircase. The building stands three storeys tall and has a two-window range. The upper floors are fitted with 2/2 sash windows, with the first-floor windows having horns, and are flanked by incised stucco panels at the ends. The second floor features corniced sashes with reeded architraves. A projecting cornice and a stucco parapet with a coping stone complete the exterior. The ground-floor shopfront has been altered but retains its original-shaped bow window, fluted pilasters, 20th-century glazed doors, and a wide curved fascia.
