Description
No. 68 North Street is a small detached cottage ornee, likely built around 1800. It features a front made of ham stone ashlar, with cut and squared stone on the sides and rear, and has a hipped thatched roof topped with a brick chimney stack. The cottage is single-storey and consists of two bays. It has hollow-chamfered mullioned windows with three lights set in chamfered recesses, complete with labels. The lights are rectangular and leaded, featuring four-centre arched heads with incised spandrils. Between the bays, there is a cambered-arched doorway with a studded boarded door that includes a glazed panel. On the south side, there is a small lean-to extension behind the gable wall, which has a matching door. The north wall includes a further two-light window, and there is a second lean-to extension at the rear. The interior was not seen during the last survey, and the property was unoccupied at that time in October 1985.
