Description

This is a semi-detached cottage likely dating to the 17th or early 18th century, situated on the east side of North Street in Stoke Sub Hamdon. The cottage is constructed of coursed ham stone rubble with ashlar dressings, and has a double Roman clay tile roof with a coped south gable and a north abutment. A brick chimney stack is also present.

The building is two storeys high and has two bays. It features hollow-chamfered mullioned windows set in chamfered recesses. The upper windows are three-light designs, unusually deep, while the lower windows are four-light designs with labels. A cambered-arched doorway, with a deep lintol and separate label, frames a 20th-century boarded door, located between the bays. In the south gable is a stairlight window and a two-light mullioned window. The interior of the cottage has not been inspected.
