Description

The Tun Well is a well or water spring located on Tunwell Lane in Stoke Sub Hamdon. The date of its construction is uncertain. It features ham stone rubble walling, which is laid dry, enclosing an area approximately 2 meters wide by 4 meters deep, situated just off the footpath. At the end of this area is a stone sink, measuring about 400 millimeters square, which has holes in the base. This sink is set into the wall beneath a jointed arch that leads to the well itself.
