Description
Ildene Cottage is a cottage ornee, possibly a former toll house, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of local stone that has been rendered and colourwashed, topped with a hipped plain clay tiled roof and featuring brick chimney stacks. The building has two storeys and a three-bay north elevation, with the outer bays being chamfered. The windows are Y-traceried, pointed-arched, and consist of two lights set in sawtooth-edge frames; however, the window in the upper bay two is now blocked, as is the pointed arched doorway below. The east side has 20th-century windows, and there is a 20th-century extension at the rear. The interior has not been seen.
