Description
No. 57 is a cottage dating from the late 18th century, constructed from local stone rubble with Ham stone dressings. It features a double Roman clay tile roof that is set between stepped coped gables, and has brick chimney stacks at each end. The cottage is two storeys high and has two bays, positioned at right angles to the road. The west facade includes plain mullioned windows with small chamfers around the surrounds; these windows are two lights, except for the lower bay which has three lights. There is an entrance door and a simple casement window on the east side. The interior has not been seen, but the cottage is noted as a humble and unspoilt survivor.
