Description
No. 37 is a detached house with origins dating back to the 17th century, although it has been modified over time. The building is constructed from roughly cut and squared Ham stone, with ashlar dressings, and features a thatched roof between coped gables and rendered brick chimney stacks. It has two storeys and three bays.
On the upper level, there are casement windows with 2, 3, and 2 lights, which are set slightly into the roof, suggesting that the roof has been raised. On the lower level, the outer bays have 3-light ovolo-moulded mullioned windows set in wave-mould recesses, with the third bay featuring a label above. The second bay has a chamfered flat-arched doorway, which is out of alignment with the window above, and it contains a 20th-century boarded door.
A lean-to structure is present against the north gable, while the south gable has three small windows with hoodmoulds and plain surrounds. The eroded window at the rear may have originally been ovolo-moulded. The interior has not been seen.
