Description
No. 55 High Street is a cottage that is likely to have been refronted in the early 19th century. It is built from local stone that has been cut and squared, featuring tooled stone dressings, and has a stone slate roof supported by abutments, with a brick chimney stack at one end. The cottage has two storeys and an attic, with a single bay. The front features a 19th-century door with a rectangular fanlight set in a recess to the left, followed by double 12-pane sash windows beneath a keystoned lintel. On the first floor, there is a 12-pane sash window, and in the attic, there is a pitched roof dormer with a 2-light casement window. The interior has not been seen.
