Description

This is an 18th and 19th century house with an attached shop, situated in a row on the south side of High Street, Bruton. The main house is constructed of local stone, rendered and with ashlar facing, and has a Welsh slate roof with plain gables. The wing has a similar roof but with stone slates and abutments, and brick chimney stacks. The main block is a 2-storey, 2-bay structure dating to the 19th century. Attached to it is a single-storey, 2-bay wing with a basement, dating to the 18th century. A shop front features two single-light, angled bay windows and recessed double doors beneath a bayed fascia. Above the shop are two 2-light casement windows with single horizontal glazing bars. The wing has plain 2-light casement windows to the basement and 12-pane sash windows above, paired in by 2. The interior has not been inspected.
