Description
The Castle Inn is an 18th-century inn located at the end of a row on High Street in Bruton. It features local stone with pebbledash rendering that has been colourwashed, and it has a stone slate roof with a plain west gable. The building stands two storeys high and has two bays. On the ground floor, there are two three-light bow windows with sashes and flat lead roofs, which are likely from the 19th century. Above these are composite sash windows with 4-12-4 panes. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door set in a plain opening, and above it hangs a sign on a wrought iron bracket. The Castle Inn is situated on the site of the former White Ball Inn and may include some of its original structure.
