Description

This is a lime kiln, now used as an implement shed, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of red sandstone random rubble and features a corrugated iron roof. The standard design includes three depressed stone arches and three openings to the kiln, with an unblocked loading shaft. There is also a small square opening to the left and a square moulded parapet, which was obscured by ivy at the time of the survey in March 1983.
