Description
This is a disused limekiln from the early 19th century, constructed from squared and coursed red sandstone. It features a standard plan set into the hillside and has a parapet that was obscured by ivy during the survey in January 1984. The limekiln includes three stone relieving arches that diminish in size, with a rectangular opening between the first and second arches. At the base, there are three vertically set openings, curved abutments, and a small square opening on the right abutment. It is a well-preserved example, aside from the ivy covering the parapet, and is situated in a prominent position overlooking the river, with a small quarry to the north.
