Description

This is an 18th-century chest tomb located about 8 metres south of the chancel of the Church of St. Catherine. It is made of Ham stone and features a moulded plinth. The sides are panelled with semi-circular arched keystoned panels, two on each side and one at each end, without pilasters or a frieze. The heavy hipped top has cyma-recta coving. The tomb commemorates Elizabeth, the wife of Thomas Ne-, who died in 1729, although the remaining inscriptions are covered in ivy.
