Description
This coffin lid, possibly from the 13th century, is located in the churchyard against the north face of the tower of the Church of St. Catherine in Montacute. Made of Ham stone, it measures about 1 metre long and 300 millimetres wide. The lid features traces of a cross and has a moulded top edge, suggesting it was likely used for a child's coffin.
