Description
This is a barn located about 30 meters northeast of Hamwood Farmhouse, dating from the late 17th century, with some parts renewed in the late 20th century. It features a red brick construction in Flemish bond and a half-hipped plain clay tile roof. The barn has a loft above and is connected by a wall to Hamwood Farmhouse to the southwest. The east gable end has a loft door above a sliding door from the 20th century, while the north front is unlit. The south front has four inserted openings at ground floor level and a loft door on the first floor to the right, with much of this area largely rebuilt in the 20th century. The interior has not been seen. The barn is listed for its historic interest as an early example of a brick farm building and as part of a notable group of buildings at Hamwood Farm.
