Description
This barn, located immediately west of Church Farmhouse (Number 16), dates back to 1723 and underwent alterations in the 19th century. It is constructed of red brick in a Flemish garden wall bond and features a plain-tile roof. The barn consists of four bays and has a cart entrance to the right of the center, which is fitted with double-leaf plank doors and a wind lintel. There is later irregular fenestration added to the structure. The barn has an ironstone plinth, brick-coped gables, and vents on the end walls that are arranged in lozenge shapes. The date of construction is indicated in flared headers on the left gable. The left end bay is two-storied, housing a loft or former granary at the first-floor level. The roof is supported by tie beam trusses with struts to the principal rafters and one tier of wind-braced purlins.
